来得比较晚，但还是说一下。“矛盾时代”的这几段，确实难翻译，也不太好理解。这也和穆里尼奥的英语用语习惯有关——他的很多用词都是从自己的母语思维里直接套用英语单词，所以即使意思明确，但词汇所表达的情感、褒贬，未必就和直译出来的一样，这就时常需要先去理解他话中的逻辑，再反过来看单词究竟是什么意思。
楼主的译文就不引用了，我大致逐段重新理一下内在的逻辑顺序。

2、只有当你没有这些样本可参考时，你才会被逼着自己去设计怎么上这堂课。
3、所以我现在都会看到很多重复，很多“千篇一律的复制品”。
4、哪怕你跑去第五级联赛，10岁以下少年队。你照样会看到：
5、两个中卫拉开空挡，门将出球给中场。（这样一个防守样式）
6、他们的中场技术不好，所以球没接住。
7、但他们却还是重复地做着相同的步骤。

后面的“model of play”也是同理。恐怕楼主翻译为“执教模式/比赛模型/比赛模板”，连自己都不一定能明白具体指的是什么吧。这里的意思其实不如说是战术套路/战术理念。——因为自己不是一个会“怀抱着自己的足球理念哪怕到死也不改变”的教练，所以也不存在什么固定的进行比赛的模式(model of play)。
