"I wish to bid farewell to what has been my home over these past two seasons by giving enormous thanks to the Valencia CF family, headed by President Manuel Llorente and including the board, Sporting Director Braulio Vázquez, all my teammates, all the staff employed by the club and everyone who has made this an unforgettable experience. I want to take this moment to remember all the players with whom I have shared a dressing room at the club, for whom I have a deep affection and respect and who have helped me grow as a player and as a person. Of course, I would also like to single out the fans, who have treated me so well at Mestalla, at the Ciudad Deportiva and out on the street. It has been enormously gratifying for me to feel so loved and for this reason I always tried to give them my best. Leaving as big a club as Valencia CF has been a very difficult decision, but returning home was such a special opportunity that I could not let it pass me by.
