I think the reason that Frank"s situation is so controversial is that people are being caught between emotions.
Do I love and respect him and want him buried in a Chelsea blue coffin? For sure.
Does it feel like my father kicking me in the stomach when I watch him play for city. Shit yes.

In short, I like, many people consider Frank to be a hero in our lives. Because he"s a hero, we see him as perfection. When perfection as a big dirty stain on it, it"s no longer perfection, and you grow to dislike it. It"s the mentality of most Chelsea fans in my opinion. We forget that he"s a grown ass human being and can do whatever he wants. Despite that, he"s a club legend, Chelsea" top scorer, and basically the greatest player in West London Blue, and the best number 8 England has seen.
He"s just not my hero anymore.

He will always be a legend at the club and I agree its not unprofessional to hurt our feelings. It was, however, his decision to join City knowing full well what would be the consequence of doing so; i.e. he"d be directly competing vs us. That is the part that disappoints me. It almost feels like he did it out of spite because we didn"t offer him a contract, especially after claiming he could never play for any other club in England.

I don"t understand your statement. You could easily say that Chelsea did just as much for Frank as Frank did for Chelsea. It makes sense for people to be upset, especially on this sub where "Frank didn"t sign for City" has been a mantra. Does this effect his "legendary" status with the club? No. Does it make it a little sour (especially for right now) of course. It"s like if your SO breaks up with you and then a week later is dating someone else, people have to do what they have to do for themselves, but that doesn"t make it feel any better to the others involved.

What did you expect him to do he"s a professional who can still play at the highest level as he"s proven this season, he"s too good for the MLS it"s a waste.if you want to use analogies some of you are acting like the creepy possessive ex that stalks the current relationship and is a bit weird. They honestly could have been a lot more transparent about the whole thing, but there was apparently was red tape with the loan. In the MLS players are contracted to the league not the individual club, and clubs don"t act as independent organizations like they do in England.
People can be mad because they were lied to, but it"s silly to cancel a season ticket over this. Someone on /r/soccer said this:

兰帕德没说过这话吧，不过意思这么理解也没错的。记得当初被博阿斯放到板凳上时，他说的是如果感觉自己无法为球队效力的时候，便会选择退役，而不是加盟其他球队。

我的立场也很简单，如果俱乐部认为兰帕德在球队毫无用处了而不提供合同，那兰帕德做的任何决定我都表示理解，不支持但不会恨他。即使未来的切赫有这种可能性，我也是这种态度。
忘了那些所有忠诚不二的话吧，在这种商业化环境下，还抱着这心态伤的只是自己。

不知道我算不算老球迷了,喜欢上切尔西也有差不多10年了,我也不怕跟其他队的球迷说,没错,我就是是从阿布入主切尔西之后才关注上切尔西,当时什么暴发户,拜金者等等的名称哪位切尔西球迷没有经历过呢,但是我依然坚持一步步的喜欢上切尔西,热爱上切尔西的...
可能有些人会先喜欢上球队才喜欢队中的球员,有些人会喜欢上球员再继而喜欢上球队,但是我可以说是同时喜欢上L8和切尔西的...所以我对L8和切尔西是没分谁高谁低的...
L8为切尔西流的每一滴汗水,打进的每一个进球,我相信每个切尔西的球迷都会历历在目,L8为切尔西做的所有贡献不论以后发生什么事也是所不能抹杀的...
事情回到上赛季的休赛期,作为一个L8和切尔西的球迷,我对当时的事态发展是首先希望L8能续约留下来的,毕竟上赛季的状态很不错,即使不能首发也能作为重要的替补,在更衣室里也能作为老将稳定军心...到了谈判破裂(不知道用破裂这词合适不)的时候,宣布不会留下来的时候,我的心情虽然很低落,但是怎么说也好,双方谈不拢了,那就和平分手吧,毕竟人各有志...再到L8宣布加盟纽约城,我想大多数的切尔西球迷都会和我一样,祝福L8在美国一切安好,并期盼L8能在退役后回到切尔西当名宿也好,助教也好,毕竟家门永远会你而开.事情发生到这里,几乎很多人都觉得事情发生到这地步还是能接受的...事情继续发展下去,L8宣布租借曼城半个赛季,以便保持状态,再到在对阵切尔西关键一战,打进宝贵的扳平一球的时候,大多数的球迷还是送上祝福,毕竟大家都是各为其主嘛,冠军还是要靠自己争取的,不能指望谁来帮助你或者对你手下留情...
