在上轮联赛3-2力克热刺后，利物浦主帅罗杰斯迅速赶往了罗马，而据《邮报》消息，他此行的目的是为了考察红狼中场大将皮亚尼奇。
在上轮联赛获胜后，罗杰斯没有出席赛后的新闻发布会，而周末足总杯的赛前新闻发布会上，这位红军少帅依然不见踪影。实际上，此时罗杰斯正身在罗马，他被一名热心的利物浦球迷发现，两人还一同合影留念。
这名红军主帅没有到现场观看罗马当地两强红狼以及拉齐奥的比赛，但《邮报》相信，罗杰斯此行是为了罗马中场皮亚尼奇而来。自从2011年转投意甲，这名中场已经成为红狼阵中的绝对主力。罗杰斯将在周末回到英国，现场指挥红军与水晶宫的足总杯第五轮比赛。
