切尔西主帅穆里尼奥透露，在他执教国米时，他曾试图签下爱将兰帕德。
在执教国米的两个赛季中，穆里尼奥取得了巨大的成功，他不仅率队两夺意甲联赛冠军，还帮助蓝黑军团在2010年捧起了阔别许久的欧冠冠军。
在日前的一场新闻发布会中，穆里尼奥表示未能签下杰拉德是自己的一个遗憾，而自己的另一个遗憾则是未能把兰帕德带到国米。
“我还有另一个遗憾，”穆里尼奥对记者说，“我曾想把兰帕德带到国米，当时转会几乎就要成功了，但最终什么都没有发生。”
“我有过这两个遗憾，不过这在足球界再平常不过了。”
